Windsor Rotary Advent Calender

To come out to Namibia for a year with Project Trust I had to raise 5400 pounds (I would do the symbol but they don't have it on the Namibian keyboard!) To raise this money I applied for grants from a number of charities, including the Windsor and Eton rotary which kindly gave me some money.

Attempting to explain how it works

This week in the post my Mum sent me an Advent Calender (I must confess, when I saw on the label that my parcel contained an advent calender I was kind of hoping it would contain chocolate. But oh well!)

According to my Dad, it's a new venture by the rotary. Loads of shops etc. have donated prizes and instead of a daily dose of chocolate you get the chance to win a prize each day - quite a clever idea really, and some of the prizes are pretty cool! But why do I get the feeling that if by some miracle I did win a prize it would dissapear by the time I got back home? Oh well - at least I have a really cute picture of Windsor Castle to stick on my wall and remind me of home :D

  1. Now what you need to do is from 1st December go on the Windsor and Eton rotary club web site and check your individual calendar number (at the top right hand side) against the 9 numbers drawn each day. If they match you win a prize. Even if you win keep opening and checking as you can win again. All the major prizes are on the 24th.

If too much trouble or difficult for you to access the web site, let me know your number and I'll check each day.

By the way they are putting the bottom picture on the web site. tell the children they will be famous!
