Keetmanshoop

Our favorite restaurant
One day this bridge will break...
My only letter....
Each Friday afternoon after school Daisy and I go to our local town called Keetmanshoop. By 'local' we mean 80 km away, that's about a 45-60 minute drive depending on who's behind the wheel. Most weeks we get a lift with our host, Mrs Kruse, but sometimes we hitch-hike instead, which is always an interesting experience.

Daisy's first letter!

They have some cool chairs as well!
In Keetmans we do our weekly food shop, collect our post (well, Daisy does, I normally just watch in jealousy!) get money out the bank and have a wander around the shops. We've also started going to a restaurant for lunch. It's nice to not have to worry about cooking once a week, and it's also our chance to eat some meat! Plus we have discovered the restaraunt does amazing milkshakes, they have quickly become part of the weekly routine!
A very reassuring sign in the bank!
Daisy living up to her nickname
A very proud hiker!

Daisy was NOT happy in the cold!

  3. 2nd parcel will be on its way after we get back from Lanzarote. Just think in WWII if you were in a prison camp you would be lucky to get a red cross parcel once every 6 months.

Do you have a student card? apparently if you have one of these you can get discounts on all sorts of things when you travel. If not let me know and i'll sort one out.
