While we very much enjoy the secondary learners visiting our house in the afternoons and evenings, it can sometimes feel a little overwhelming. When we have over twenty children in our house, reading our magazines, playing with our cameras, playing our slightly broken guitar, playing music on the laptop, talking, shouting, singing, arguing and asking questions it can be a bit.........busy.
The comparison has been made previously to alien invasion movies, in which the monsters are crawling through the windows to get into a house while the frightened inhabitants cower somewhere. Most of the time we love chatting to the kids, and have no problem with them hanging out in our house. But just occasionally, when we see a shadow pass by our window, or we hear a knock at the door we groan and wish they'd go away! But really it's lovely having a constant stream of visitors. It gives us someone to talk to (and to whine about our learners to) and some of the stories they come out with are truly hilarious - plus it's a good (and interesting) way to learn more about the culture.
And there I thought all you did in the afternoon was have a nice little snooze. You need an afternoon project.

Sounds just like Kings Road!! As you know, we love a stream of visitors in the house - it makes it a home and you should take it as a compliment that they all want to spend time with you
